Why Join TBA
Powerful 3-in-1 representation to defend you against excessive regulations within our community as it relates to building. Our Governmental Affairs Committee under the chairmanship of Masoud Karimipour of Persica Homes, has been representing our association before both city and county officials. FHBA Chief Lobbyist Rusty Payton and his team are well respected on Capitol Hill and they work closely with a team of lobbyists to be sure there is always someone keeping the interests and concerns of the building industry a top priority at the Capital. Our team in Washington remains one of the nation’s greatest voices for home building and in 2014 their lobbying efforts and successes on the Hill saved builders over $6,800+ per housing start.
Build relationships with fellow professionals, customers and suppliers. Our monthly membership meetings, member directory and website will keep you in touch with the most powerful, successful and influential business people in the building industry. Sponsorship and advertising opportunities are available throughout the year and will help your company promote the “Do Business With A Member” motto of the Tallahassee Builders Association.
TBA provides the latest need–to-know industry information from NAHB, FHBA & locally on changes and regulations that go in effect during the year that will impact your company and the way you do business.
All Florida Contractors are required to attain 14 credit hours every two years. The TBA offers Continuing Education through the FHBA approved course coordinator as well as through NAHB Webinars and the International Builders Show. When TBA offers seminars to our members, we do so at a reduced rate and keep track of your credits to make your renewal process easier.
Locally the TBA office is available to direct you to the right contact at FHBA and NAHB to get answers to the questions that keep you awake at night. Chances are if you are having an issue, someone else has already gone through the same process and is available to help.
There is a staff of 240 people in Washington working on your behalf developing educational programs, creating networking opportunities and representing your interests in very challenging legislative and regulatory arenas.
In addition to the Member Advantages from NAHB, the FHBA offers business insurance through the state run FHBInsurance Company as well as offering many other incentive programs such as the HBA Builder rebate for major products and services used within a home. FHBA offers at no charge to its members sample contracts for new homes, remodeling and special services.
A member of the Tallahassee Builders Association is also a member of the Florida Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders.
