The Tallahassee Builders Association (TBA) is a non-profit professional trade organization comprised of local builders, remodelers, developers and associated businesses involved in the residential construction industry. The association is affiliated with both the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
Our NAHB charter dates back to February 8, 1955. Since 1942, the NAHB has helped promote the policies that make housing a national priority. With over 140,000 members nationwide of both builders and the vendors that serve them, NAHB strives to create an opportunity for Americans to realize the dream of home ownership, and the freedom for builders to operate as entrepreneurs in an open and competitive marketplace.
OUR MISSION
Our Mission is to provide leadership and professionalism within the building industry through education, advocacy, and community involvement.
OUR ASSOCIATION
TBA is a professional organization of more than 280 builders, developers, remodeling contractors, specialty trade contractors, and associate members. In order to assist the consumer in new home purchase or home improvement decisions, the TBA provides information about builders, remodelers, developers, and affiliated companies that have agreed to abide by the TBA Code of Ethics, to use accepted professional and business practices, and to meet or exceed local, state and federal standards and regulations.
OUR COMMUNITY
The TBA is fully engaged and entrenched into the community with clear understanding of giving back both by individual members as well as collectively from the entire membership. The TBA created Builders Care in January of 2015 to better serve our community’s needs. Builders Care is our community outreach program that provides construction services to the needy, the elderly and disadvantaged homeowners living throughout our community. TBA has also embraced the development of the FBA Future Builders of America program within our high schools in an effort to build a long lasting workforce and to educate school officials, parents and students on the benefits of choosing a career in housing. This coming January we will officially start a FBA Chapter at Gadsden Technical Center and Crossroads Academy in Quincy, FL.
OUR MOTTO
As a trade organization reflective of the residential construction industry we give great credence to “DO BUSINESS with a MEMBER! Because of the collective causes and issues that the membership focuses on it creates a tangible benefit where members can share contacts and business opportunity to everyone’s success.
OUR MEMBERS
Our members are engaged in both providing a voice for advocacy within our industry and opportunities for business growth through a variety of networking events. TBA encourages all members to get involved and encourages members to join one of our many committees or councils. Our committees within the association drive the agenda throughout the year. Join us by lending your time and expertise by participating and helping the association grow and serve its members better. Participation on committees provides another opportunity to further promote your business, learn from other members, and enrich the association at the same time.
“Do Business With A Member”
“Every man owes a part of his time and money to the business or industry in which he is engaged. No man has a moral right to withhold his support from an organization that is striving to improve conditions within his sphere.”
–Theodore Roosevelt
